Boosting Renewable Energy build-up as a contribution to Jordan’s post-Covid recovery

Main project objective:

As the energy market in Jordan is stepping in the growth phase aiming to reach 50% (3.2 GW) by 2030, this transition entails the need for institutionalized best practice and guidelines among policy makers, system operators, and local businesses in order to enable a strong and stable power system and renewable energy business ecosystem that is resilient to changes and shocks such as COVID-19. These guidelines will contribute to a green recovery by providing stakeholders with not just the tools but the skills to help them implementing quality work and enhancing their performance and reliability. The overarching objective is filling the capacity gaps towards green economy creating local jobs and empowering communities.

Main Deliverables:

Guidelines and Reports

• Jordan EPC and O&M Best Practice Guidelines (English and Arabic language).
• Reports on innovate solutions in Digitization, Storage & Mobility (English and Arabic language)
• Paper addressing COVID-19 recovery to Jordanian policy makers (English and Arabic language)

Workshops

• Two Capacity building workshops (to launch the EPC and O&M Guidelines for local engineers and technicians from different stakeholders (private sector, public authorities, associations, and vocational training centers).
• One workshop to launch the Innovation solutions reports.
• Disseminate the position paper in a dedicated online event.
