Circular Economy as part of Jordan′s Resource Security Strategy

Jordan’s dependence on imported energy, food, and water exposes the country to persistent economic and geopolitical risk. This policy note explores how circular economy strategies can reduce that vulnerability by recovering resources from waste, extending the life of products and infrastructure, and building more resilient local supply chains.

Drawing on Jordan’s own emerging initiatives and international best practice, the note identifies high-impact interventions across energy, food, and water systems, and offers concrete policy recommendations for embedding circularity into Jordan’s national economic strategy.

This policy note was produced under the GIZ-implemented Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN) Project, in collaboration with EDAMA.
