Background and Context
The project “Women on the Green Path” aims to promote women’s economic empowerment in the green and circular economy in Tunisia, Morocco, and Jordan. The green economy has become a significant focus in the region, with the potential to drive sustainable development and climate resilience. However, several challenges hinder the full participation of women in this sector, including lack of resources, limited access to funding, and prevailing negative social norms. CAWTAR, in collaboration with REMESS and EDAMA, has launched this initiative to address these challenges by empowering women entrepreneurs and enhancing the capacity of support organizations. This action is carried out with the support of GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, the Agencia Española de Cooperación para el Desarrollo (AECID), and the Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat (UFMS). The overall objective is to create an enabling environment for women entrepreneurs in the green and circular economy, fostering their growth, sustainability, and leadership.
Position Overview:
The Project Communication Officer will manage the implementation of the project communication strategy across Jordan, aiming to promote employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for women in the green circular economy. The role involves developing tailored communication plans, coordinating with local teams, and monitoring and evaluating strategy effectiveness. Responsibilities include managing stakeholder relationships, overseeing content creation and distribution, and preparing progress reports. This position supports the project’s objectives of enhancing organizational capacities to assist women entrepreneurs, providing targeted resources and mentorship, inspiring women through success stories, and creating networking platforms to foster collaboration and growth. By effectively communicating the project’s mission and achievements.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and create a database with project stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and entrepreneurship in the green sector
- Compile and deliver regular updates on the communication strategy’s implementation and effectiveness.
- Monitor project progress and prepare accurate and timely reports.
- Facilitate communication and information sharing among project partners and stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
- Track progress and assess the impact of communication efforts, adjusting as needed.
- work in close collaboration with the communication team leader and will be responsible for achieving the indicators related to the communication and dissemination activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Industrial Engineering, Gender Studies, International Relation, Environmental Science and any related field).
- At least 1 year of experience in project management, preferably in the context of EU-funded projects.
- Experience in conducting reports and analysis on green economy topics.
- Strong knowledge of the green and circular economy, particularly in the context of the Mediterranean region.
- Preferred basic experience in graphic design.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to travel abroad.
