EWE Economic Policy Research Assistant
EDAMA association is a non for profit membership based business association that focuses on water, environment and energy issues, three critical sectors for the development of Jordan.
The association works in the areas of business development, public policy advocacy, education and training and seeks a qualified candidate to support in conducting research to support the association’s objectives.
The job description includes:
- Work with EDAMA staff and committee members to define challenges and opportunities in the energy, water and environment sector (EWE)
- Ability to understand and characterize the current EWE sector and subsector profile identifying SWOTs, key stakeholders, and contribution to GDP, and government balance sheet and balance of payments
- Conduct research related to national and regional benchmarks, best practices (regulations and economic policies), and economic figure related to the EWE sectors and in specific sub-sector issues
- Develop sector and subsector economic profiles and economic models that highlight direct and indirect benefits to the economy
- Develop outlines for research topics, policy papers and presentations
- Establish cooperation and ties with other research organizations or researches in order to collaborate on studies and position papers
- Assist in preparing presentations and policy papers to support advocacy
Requirements
- A strong understanding of EWE sector is a plus
- A strong command on research and development of economic models
- Proven experience in sector research
- Good written and presentation skills in both languages
- Relevant experience in economic development, economic modeling and economic policy
- Resourceful in data collection from public domain and government agencies.
- At least five to ten years of relevant experience
- Part time or full time optional
