EDAMA Organizes “She Leads: From Storytelling to Solution-Making” Workshop as Part of the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership

On Monday, July 28, 2025, the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held a workshop titled “She Leads: From Storytelling to Solution-Making” within the framework of the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership, in cooperation with the German Energy Agency (dena) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWE), and EDAMA Association for Energy, Water and Environment.

The head of Gender Task Force welcomed the participants, emphasizing that the aim of the workshop was to create a space where women could break the silence and speak openly about the challenges they face in the workplace — anonymously and without fear of exposure.

Abu Murar stated that the Ministry of Energy stands as a leading example of women’s empowerment, noting that out of 16 organizational units in the Ministry, 8 are headed by women. In addition, the Ministry’s Secretary General is also a woman, alongside several others in senior supervisory positions. She added that the Ministry is a source of inspiration for both public and private institutions in empowering and supporting women.

She affirmed that these women attained their positions through competence, excellence, and merit — and were, in fact, the most qualified — which should inspire other women to strive to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

From her side, Boudiaf Berdice of the German Energy Agency (dena) stressed the importance of women’s empowerment and reaffirmed the Jordanian-German Partnership’s commitment to supporting women in the energy sector. She also expressed her appreciation to the team from the Ministry of Energy and EDAMA Association for their efforts.

The workshop’s first session focused on reviewing key challenges, highlighting issues raised by participants in a previous session. In the second session, participants formed working groups to categorize these challenges in a structured format, laying the groundwork for further discussion and the development of practical, long-term solutions in a follow-up workshop.
