Jordan, August 4, 2024 – On Sunday, August 4, 2024, EDAMA Association for Energy, Water, and Environment announced the launch of the first lecture in a specialized training program on the cleaning and maintenance of solar panels, as part of the “Green Links” project, funded by the European Union. The program is being carried out in close collaboration with the Jordan Business Development Center (BDC) and Climate Action Network –Jordan (CAN), with continuous support from the Union Bank.
The “Green Links“ project aims to enhance sustainable resource management through advanced environmental innovations in Azraq and Zarqa cities in Jordan. The project focuses on building a sustainable ecosystem based on modern technological solutions, while boosting local community engagement in the green economy. This will contribute to achieving sustainable development and strengthen local communities’ ability to adapt to environmental challenges.
The training program will run for three months in Zarqa, where 22 trainees of Jordanian and Syrian nationality, representing various age groups and mostly women, will receive intensive training. The program includes both theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops. It aims to enhance participants’ skills and provide them with the technical and practical knowledge necessary for the cleaning and maintenance of solar panels, preparing them to meet market demands and work efficiently in this vital field.
At the end of the course, trainees who successfully meet all program requirements will be awarded accredited certificates, including the Jordanian Professional Practice Certification that will enable them to confidently enter the workforce and open new opportunities for them.
This project represents an important step toward achieving sustainable development goals, enhancing local communities’ environmental sustainability, and fostering economic growth. Through this program, EDAMA aims to raise environmental awareness and strengthen environmental protection, contributing to improving the quality of life for individuals in local communities and advancing a sustainable future.
