On June, 2025, EDAMA Association for Energy, Water, and Environment launched a training program in organic farming and composting as part of the “Green Links” project, funded by the European Union, in partnership with the Jordan Business Development Center (BDC) and the Climate Action Network-Jordan (CAN), and supported by Bank al Etihad.
The training brought together 40 selected beneficiaries and was conducted across seven different farms in Al Azraq. These beneficiaries had previously participated in the theoretical training delivered during the first phase of the project. In this practical phase, the selected farms served as live learning sites, providing participants with hands-on experience in organic farming and composting techniques and sustainable agricultural practices.
The initiative offers both Jordanians and Syrians the opportunity to build skills in eco-friendly farming, enhance soil health, and reduce agricultural waste. By working directly on operational farms, participants engaged in the full cycle of organic agriculture, from composting to cultivation, strengthening their ability to replicate these practices within their own communities
The training aligns with the core mission of the Green Links project; to drive local green innovation, support environmental resilience, and open pathways to green jobs and entrepreneurship in rural areas.
This project represents an effective step toward achieving sustainable development goals and building environmentally conscious and sustainable communities. The program aims to enhance environmental awareness and provide training and job opportunities in organic farming and compost production. Through these efforts, the program contributes to environmental protection and improving the quality of life for individuals in local communities.
