EDAMA Association for Energy, Water and Environment, in cooperation with the Sector Skills Council for the Water and Energy Sectors (WE Skill), concluded on Thursday, January 29, 2026, a specialized training program on preparing sustainability reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. The program comes as part of their joint efforts to build capacities, institutionalize the council, and promote sustainable practices.
This training was implemented under the project “Capacity Building and Institutionalization of the National Sector Skills Council for the Water and Energy Sectors,” funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in partnership with the Government of Canada and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) within the Support to Jordan Educational Institutions in Offering Labour Market Oriented Vocational Training (MOVE-HET II) program.
The program aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to prepare comprehensive and transparent sustainability reports that reflect institutional environmental, social, and economic performance, in alignment with international best practices in governance and corporate responsibility.
This training builds on previous capacity-building initiatives, as sustainability reporting has become a key priority for WE Skill members and EDAMA. The program was designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and to encourage their integration into institutional work environments, thereby supporting enhanced collaboration across different stakeholders.
The training also emphasized aligning sustainability reports with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by guiding participants through linkage mechanisms and goal identification. Additionally, interactive exercises, a case study, and knowledge-check activities enabled participants to develop practical skills necessary to produce accurate and impactful sustainability reports within their organizations.
