Main Objective
To strengthen institutional frameworks, policies, and day-to-day practices within Jordan’s energy sector in order to enhance women’s participation, leadership, and long-term career progression. The project aimed to move beyond assessment conducted in Phase II and awareness by translating existing labor laws, national strategies, and sectoral commitments into coordinated, actionable, and institutionally owned measures.
Results
- A comprehensive and prioritized set of challenges affecting women in Jordan’s energy sector, validated through multi-stakeholder engagement and reflecting real workplace experiences across institutions, roles, and regions.
- A portfolio of practical, policy-aligned tools and measures co-developed with stakeholders, designed to address structural, cultural, and procedural barriers related to leadership, career advancement, work-life integration, and workplace equity.
- A clear framework linking each recommendation to responsible lead and supporting institutions, facilitating institutional ownership, implementation planning, and follow-up within existing governance and human resource systems.
- Strengthened coordination and sustained dialogue through Gender Task Force, reinforcing its role as a sectoral platform for aligning initiatives, sharing responsibilities, and supporting the systematic integration of gender-responsive practices across the energy sector.
