EDAMA Association Hosts Training of Trainers for Gender-Sensitive Support in Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Business Support Organizations

EDAMA Association has successfully concluded a transformative four-day in-person training session as part of the Women on the Green Path project. Held from February 8th to 11th, 2025, the event, titled BSOs Academy: Empowering Green Champions – Module Two, gathered Business Support Organizations (BSOs) to enhance their capabilities in fostering women entrepreneurs within the green and circular economy.

Throughout the training, expert facilitators led dynamic and interactive sessions focused on key themes such as integrating gender-sensitive approaches and sustainable practices into support services for women entrepreneurs. The sessions underscored the crucial role BSOs play in empowering women to adopt and implement sustainable business models. The diverse group of participants actively engaged in workshops, hands-on activities, and lively discussions, gaining practical insights into the challenges and opportunities within the green economy.

Ms. Emna Sohlobji, founder of TELLUS ADVISORY and a recognized expert in sustainable economic practices, led a session on the green and circular economy. She highlighted how traditional economic activities can integrate sustainable practices and encouraged participants to share their ideas and experiences. The session provided valuable space for exploring the barriers and potential of including women in the green economy, as well as strengthening BSOs’ support for sustainable entrepreneurship.

Additionally, Ms. Hedia Belhaj Youssef, a leading trainer in gender mainstreaming and advocacy, delivered a session on core gender concepts. As the coordinator of the gender-based violence program at CAWTAR, she equipped participants with essential tools for incorporating gender perspectives into their work. The session culminated in BSOs presenting their gender-sensitive product designs, followed by comprehensive feedback and evaluation.

This training session follows the successful completion of Module One of the BSOs Academy, which focused on building sustainable business models and laid the foundation for participants to develop sustainable business practices.

The Women on the Green Path project will continue to empower women entrepreneurs, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to take on leadership roles in the green economy. This initiative is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).
