EDAMA hosted a discussion titled “Smart Agriculture: Revolutionizing Farming for Sustainability and Efficiency” in partnership with Shoman Foundation.


On 3rd of November 2024, EDAMA hosted a discussion in partnership with Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, titled “Smart Agriculture: Revolutionizing Farming for Sustainability and Efficiency”. The discussion featured remarkable speakers among were Dr. Ahmad Kheir, Head of Research Department of the Agricultural Research Center (ARC) in Giza, Egypt. Dr. Jawad AlBakri, Professor in the Department of Land, Water and Environmental Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jordan. As well as Dr. Ammar Al-Balasmeh, Associate professor of Environmental Soil Physics at Jordan University of Science and Technology.

The session began with welcoming remarks from Mr. Imad Zureiqat, General Manager of EDAMA, who highlighted the significance of adopting smart technologies to improve efficiency in agriculture.

The discussions centered on the role of integrating modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in enhancing traditional agricultural practices. The objectives associated with this integration were clearly outlined, including reducing resource waste and increasing production to align with the growing needs of the population, all while ensuring environmental sustainability.

This session is part of EDAMA and Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s efforts to support sustainability and provide innovative solutions to environmental and economic challenges in Jordan.
