Training of Trainers Program for Empowering Business Support Organizations (Training on Gender-Responsive Support in Sustainable Entrepreneurship)
Deadline for applications: 28/11/2024, 6 PM National Time.
Project: Women on the Green Path
Project Partners: CAWTAR (Tunisia), REMESS (Morocco), EDAMA (Jordan)
Project Reference Number: PRO430EDE-2023
Background and Context
The Women on the Green Path (WGP) project aims to promote women’s economic empowerment in the green and circular economy throughout the Mediterranean region. This focus is crucial for driving sustainable development and enhancing climate resilience. However, challenges such as lack of resources, limited access to funding, and negative social norms hinder women’s full participation in this sector.
Implemented in Tunisia, Jordan, and Morocco, the project seeks to build the capacities of organizations supporting women entrepreneurs, enhance their roles in driving sustainable growth, and advocate for gender equality in the transition to a green economy. WGP provides policy engagement, capacity building, and technical assistance for women entrepreneurs and MSMEs in green sectors, contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic development.
This initiative is launched by CAWTAR in collaboration with REMESS, EDAMA, and MedWaves, the UNEP/MAP Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP). The project is supported by GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, the Agencia Española de Cooperación para el Desarrollo (AECID), and the Union for the Mediterranean Secretariat (UFMS).
Objective of the Call
This call for applications aims to select 45 representatives from Business Support Organizations (BSOs) in Tunisia, Jordan, and Morocco (15 per country) to participate in a Training of Trainers (ToT) program under the WGP project.
The training will enhance the capacity of BSOs to integrate gender-responsive approaches and sustainable practices into their services for women entrepreneurs. The program will equip BSOs with the tools, knowledge, and methodologies necessary to promote the green and circular economy, ensuring that women-led businesses are at the forefront of sustainable development. Through this initiative, BSOs will be empowered to coach and mentor women entrepreneurs, contributing to both gender equality and environmental sustainability in their countries.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this program, applicants must:
- Be a representative of a BSO operating in Tunisia, Jordan, or Morocco.
- Hold a leadership or training role within the organization.
Note: Individuals who have previously participated in the same training program (MedWaves/SwitchMed Methodology) are not eligible, as this initiative aims to broaden the pool of experts and enhance the skills of ecosystem stakeholders.
